Oops Lab

01 · Studio & Co.

A small studio building software for problems where the data exists but the access layer
is broken
.

Crime statistics. USB device telemetry. Adult day-care elopement. Web automation. Different surfaces, same failure mode — real signal, locked behind bad APIs.

We make the access layer.

02 · What we ship

Four products. Different surfaces, same instinct.

Mousey
beta

Hardware mouse jiggler, audited and accountable.

ESP32‑S3 USB device + dashboard. Stealth-clean. Built because every existing jiggler is either a sketchy Aliexpress dongle or a flaky Python script.

WanderAware
R&D

UHF RFID elopement detection for adult day care.

Shoe tags + door readers, alerting in seconds. Validated with operators; hardware prototype in slow lane.

Taskmosis
dormant

Web workflow automation, agent-native.

Original umbrella project. Currently parked while we focus on shipping CrimeScore.

03 · The instinct

The interesting work isn’t in generating new data — it’s in making the data we already have legible.

Crime stats sit in 800+ municipal portals. Neighborhood risk sits in private vendors at $50K contracts. USB telemetry sits behind closed firmware. RFID location sits behind enterprise sales cycles. Every one of these is solved — for somebody else, at the wrong price, behind the wrong contract.

We pick problems where the access layer is the bottleneck and rebuild it for whoever’s being left out: developers, small operators, AI agents.

04 · Founders

Ian Matlak

Co-Founder · Engineering

Software engineer at Fiserv. Full-stack with a frontend lean. Built CrimeScore from a weekend ETL into a live B2B API. Hackathon habit; doesn’t finish things halfway.

Alexandre Vasconcelos

Co-Founder · Infrastructure

Software engineer at Capgemini. Math & physics background, builds infrastructure for a living. Modernized legacy ASP.NET into NestJS + React for a $2.5T-AUM client and now treats Terraform like a love language.
